LOVERS IN PARIS

a.k.a Pari Eh Yun In, Romance in Paris, Des Amoureux à Paris
20 Episodes, SBS TV (2004)
http://tv.sbs.co.kr/paris/
Genre: Romance Drama
Starring: Kim Jung Eun, Park Shin Yang, Lee Dong Gun etc.
The theme is just like another Korean Drama Series, Love Triangle, and the girl is the one in the powerless and poor role. But something makes this series is different from the other series, which make it one of the best korean drama series I've ever watched. Let's figure it out!

The Cinderella-like story started in Paris, the city of lights, for about the first 4-5 episodes. It shows us the beauty and romance of the city, and lift up our mood and the atmosphere when we are watching the series ;) Once you start to watch the series, you won't left it (even for a while) until you finish them all.

Tae Young (KJE) is a Korean student working as a part time housekeeper at Ki Joo's (PSY) House in Paris. KJ is a perfectionist man who want everything is done just like what he want, while TY do things just like the way she thinks. No wonder, she's getting fired just after a couple of weeks working over KJ's house. Then, KJ finds out that TY comes from the same hometown with his prospective business colleague. He hires TY to be his girl friend. You'll see the two of them dance waltz in a beautiful chateau and it's so beautiful!!!

For some reasons, things don't go well and it makes TY and KJ end on a bad term in Paris. Afterwards, they make their own way back to Korea for their own business (TY: father’s death anniversary, KJ: Called up by his father)

The real story goes in Seoul, Korea when unfortunate events are always happened to TY, and KJ shows in a good timing as if he is her guardian angel ;)

Soo Hyuk (LDG) is a person who always back TY up when KJ don't. He's a nice, warmth and cheerful guy who can make everyone falling into him, you'll see a drastic change on his character in the movie. It makes him and the story goes much much exciting!!

Frankly, I'd say I don't like the ending of the movie! It's nice and sweet, but I want a bit longer ending which shows the couple in their wedding day, or at least shows us a sweet and romantic proposal!! Anyway, the ending is much vivid than Glass Picture though :P

IT'S A MUST WATCHED KDRAMA SERIES! 5 (out of 5) THUMBS UP :D

ps: after watching this series, I became an official Lee Dong Gun FANatic!! I crave for him :P

SWEET 18
a.k.a Nang Rang 18 Seh
20 episodes, KBS TV (2004)
http://www.kbs.co.kr/drama/rangrang/
Genre: Comedy Drama
Starring: Han Ji Hye, Lee Dong Gun
The story reminds me of My Sassy Girl Chun Hyang and Full House. It's because of the "arranged" marriage and the ambience when I watched the series. The story flows so good, it's not too draggy or too short, the peak points is just where it should be...

I love this serial so much!!! Not only because the lead actor is Lee Dong Gun... but the story has a strong cultural background in it. We can learn load of thing from this serial about keeping our local wisdom as our values.

In this serial, I salute the young Koreans who embrace their culture. It's getting rare to see youth embracing their culture. Get along with the globalization, we often forget "who we are" and "where we come from". We are so into IT, Electronic and Cyberworld... and it often makes us into cyborg :P

In this movie we can learn a wise attitude, such as respect the elders, keeping responsibility to our family, learning wisdom from the traditional values and philosophy of life , keep chasing our dreams even it's just a simple and modest one, and even doing "intimate" relationship only with the one we really love (even if we have to wait until we really love him/her after the marriage :P).

Jung Sook (HJH) is an 18 year old girl who has just graduated from High School. Her only dream at that time is getting married to Hyuk Joon (LDG) soon after she found out that he's her first love. Their grandfathers arranged their marriage when HJ was 10 year old and JS just was born. For an unknown reasons, finally HJ agreed to the marriage, but with a pre-condition. Just like another kdrama which has the same theme, finally the couple really fall in love for each other. The story get twisted when HJ's ex-girl friend and sisters come back to Korea from overseas. I recommend this serial to you, this is another-must-watched-kdrama-series!! :D
5 (out of 5) THUMBS UP :D

Hari gini ngomongin "cinta" ?!?!?!

Lagu Rindu

Bintang malam katakan padanya
Aku ingin melukis sinarmu di hatinya
Embun pagi sampaikan padanya
Biar ku dekap erat waktu dingin membelenggunya

Reff:
Tahukah engkau wahai langit
Aku ingin bertemu membelai wajahnya
Kan ku pasang hiasan angkasa yang terindah
Hanya untuk dirinya

Lagu rindu ini kuciptakan
Hanya untuk bidadari hatiku tercinta
Walau hanya nada sederhana
Ijinkan ku ungkap segenap rasa dan kerinduan

(Keris Patih, words by Badai)

Aku Ingin

Aku ingin mencintaimu dengan sederhana
Dengan kata yang tak sempat diucapkan
Kayu kepada api yang menjadikannya abu

Aku ingin mencintaimu dengan sederhana
Dengan isyarat yang tak sempat disampaikan
Awan kepada hujan yang menjadikannya tiada

(Sapardi Djoko Damono, 1989)
Dan ketika tadi aku mengubek-ubek internet untuk mencari puisi Sapardi di atas ini, aku teringat sebuah lagu jaman papah-mamah kali ya... yang judulnya "If", dinyanyikan oleh Bread

If

If a picture paints a thousand words
Then why can't I paint you?
The words will never show
The you I've come to know
If a face could launch a thousand ships
Then where am I to go?
There's no one home but you
You're all that's left me to
And, when my love for life is running dry
You come and pour yourself on me

If a man could be two places at one time
I'd be with you
Tomorrow and today
Beside you all the way
If the world should stop revolving
Spinning slowly down to die
I'd spend the end with you
And, when the world was through
Then, one by one, the stars would all go out
Then you and I would simply fly away

(Bread)
For the first time I learnt that love for someone else (man) is almost the same with love with Him is from this song. How sometimes love can make us blind, but in other way it drives us to something good and comforting...

Beberapa bulan yang lalu, sempat bertengkar dengan seorang sahabat mengenai hal 'ini'... I was sceptical at that moment so that I was resistant to anything what he said. At that time, we saw things from a different perspective, just like a story of three blind men who are asked about how an elephant is.

I don't know what love is, so if you ask me to define it, I'll do nothing but silence. I don't know what it is but I know how it feels ;)
